That's when the butterflies started.

Here's the catch: EFY is expensive, so in order to go, we have to pay for half of it. And for an average 8th grader, that's a lot of money and a big sacrifice. But I was willing to save. My sister would always apply in January, wait until summer and then scramble trying to earn money. I thought I would try a different approach...
Starting November I decided I wouild gradually work up to it, instead of rushing at the last minute. When I told my mom I had already started saving, she got me a piggy bank that I cuold keep my money in.
That seemed to work! Every time I went babysitting or earned money at all, I would pick out tithing and then pout the rest in my EFY piggy bank. I was really proud of how disciplined I was. Once I put the money in the pig, I would never take it out. I was really good that I started saving early. I wasn't stressed or felt like I was on a tight schedule. It was great.
Well, my hard work has paid off! After months of babysitting, earning, saving snd serving I finally made it! I am officially going to EFY!! (I even had 32 cents to spare!**) It's a big releif but also very exciting for me. And I finished 2 months early! :D
**I re-did my room over break. In the process, my mom told e to "gut" my closets, nightstands and shelves. In the process, I found my old piggy bank from when I was 6-8 years old. It had 4 dollar bills in it and the rest was all in change. I decided to use it to my advantage and it ended up being $9.54 JUST in change! I added it to my fund in a heartbeat.
